Could Conor McGregor Ever Make A Comeback?

The UFC, being the multi-billion-dollar company that it is, needs no lesson on driving-in sales. With almost every pay-per-view promotion that UFC President Dana White conjures up, the public is intrigued to watch the end result. By elevating well-known athletes like Ronda Rousey, Nate Diaz, Chris Weidman, and, of course, Conor McGregor, the UFC has been a force to be reckoned with in the fighting world. While the success of the brand cannot be pinpointed to one individual, UFC certainly carried the wave of energy McGregor brought with him when was booked to fight. But by being out of fighting for a little over a year, does McGregor still have the spirit to get back and compete in the octagon.

Conor is the main guy for UFC and any belt he wants he would go for. Whether he has to gain or lose weight, he takes on the challenge and gives the paying customers what they want. Take the "mega-fight" between him and Floyd Mayweather for example. McGregor and Mayweather were going back and fourth taking shots at each other during the media tour, but critics just laughed. Many thought that the fight was a “money grab” and wasn’t going to be competitive at all. But in my opinion, McGregor competed, looked strong in the beginning and was a decent matchup for Mayweather.

Since that fight ended and McGregor cashed-in his sizable check, he has taken a step back and been living his best life ever since. In early April, there were rumblings that McGregor was competitively training again and working to schedule a UFC fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov. But on April 5, during promotional appearances for UFC 223, McGregor and an entourage of about 20 others were let into the Barclays Center by members of the promotion team. It went downhill from there, as McGregor appeared to confront Nurmagomedov, who was on a bus leaving the arena. McGregor allegedly ran past the moving bus to grab a metal equipment dolly, which he then hurled at the bus's window before trying to throw other objects in the vicinity.

White said there was a warrant out for McGregor's arrest. McGregor and others involved initially fled the arena after the incident, but would turn himself in that night. McGregor was charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief. He was released on $50,000 bail and has no travel restrictions.

Clearly, McGregor let his emotions get the best of him with this incident, and now it's uncertain if a opportunity to compete in the octagon will be available in his near future. The UFC not having McGregor as a headliner is certainty hurtful to it's brand, as fans across the globe love this man. The braggadocios and loud-mouth nature of McGregor during press runs gets UFC fans riled-up and and excited to purchase the fight. All that translates into sales for White and help the brand stay prominent.

A push for Bobby Lashley is needed now more than ever

By: Fabrizio Salerno Twitter @fabriziosa1erno  When Bobby Lashley returned to the WWE, it was a monumental moment for the whole WWE Universe.  Another Power house star has arrived and can potentially take our eyes away from Roman Reigns.  Though Roman is a great performer and superstar, the WWE creative is always forcing him to be in the biggest matches and that doesn't go well with the WWE Universe. Now that Bobby came back to dominate and set his eyes on the ultimate prize of becoming a Universal Champion, it wasn't going to be an easy climb up the mountain.  You have experienced superstars that are also worthy for a match like Seth Rollins, Elias, Finn Balor and you guessed it Roman Reigns.  All these superstars have the track record and the faith of the WWE Universe to become a worthy champion and dethrone the current champion Brock Lesnar. Now it has been a couple of months since Lashley made his return and though his matches were pretty much all...

Top 10 Best Overall Sport Cities

(10) Miami The Dolphins surprisingly have a winning record, but you would’ve never guessed that after watching they were blown out by the Ravens. And to make matters worse, Jay Ajayi is out and on his way to Philadelphia. The Heat are still trying to regain their success of the Lebron-era by building around star center Hassan Whiteside but the Heat seem set for mediocrity yet again this season. Giancarlo Stanton is another promising player for the Marlins. (9) Denver The Broncos are riding a three-game losing streak and are playing the best team in football this upcoming week. The Nuggets are looking mediocre at the moment but it is too early to tell how they will turn out come February. (8) Chicago Mitch Trubisky has entered the building! The young quarterback has a way to go before teams will start to fear him, but his first few games have not been as bad as some expected. The Bears continue to rely on their underrated defense and strong run game. The Bulls ha...

The American League MVP Race - Who is leading the pack?

By Scott Edwards Twitter: @scottedwards18 As we approach the half way point of the MLB season, the AL MVP race begins to heat up with most of the dominant hitters in the MLB coming from the American League this season. From the impressive, historic start to the season by Mookie Betts, to the continued greatness of Mike Trout, this AL MVP race is truly the award race to follow this season. And so, as we are at the half way point, I felt it would be a good time to give an overview of who is leading and who has a chance to take it home by season’s end. Simply put, when all is said and done, Mike Trout could go down as the best baseball player to ever step on a field. At the young age of 26 years old, Trout is already a two-time MVP and six time all-star. And if we are being truly honest, he easily could have had another three MVP’s if it wasn't for three second place finishes. Yet miraculously, this year may somehow be Trout’s best campaign to date. The Angels’ star ou...
