When Bobby Lashley returned to the WWE, it was a monumental moment for the whole WWE Universe.  Another Power house star has arrived and can potentially take our eyes away from Roman Reigns.  Though Roman is a great performer and superstar, the WWE creative is always forcing him to be in the biggest matches and that doesn't go well with the WWE Universe.

Now that Bobby came back to dominate and set his eyes on the ultimate prize of becoming a Universal Champion, it wasn't going to be an easy climb up the mountain.  You have experienced superstars that are also worthy for a match like Seth Rollins, Elias, Finn Balor and you guessed it Roman Reigns.  All these superstars have the track record and the faith of the WWE Universe to become a worthy champion and dethrone the current champion Brock Lesnar.

Now it has been a couple of months since Lashley made his return and though his matches were pretty much all mid card at best, he proved that he is ready to step up and make a name for him self.  With Brock Lesnar going back and fourth between the WWE and the UFC it does raise a concern that the Raw doesn't have a fighting champion and fans are always fickle about that.  On Sunday's "Extreme Rules" Pay-Per-View, Raw general manager Kurt Angle announced that enough was enough with our current universal champion and he would need to show up on Monday Night Raw or else he would be stripped of his title.

Though Lesnar didn't show up, his advocate Paul Heyman showed up on his behalf and confirmed that his client would defend his title at the blockbuster of the summer "Summer Slam".  To make things interesting Angle set up two Triple Threat matches where the winner of these two matches would face each other next week and would go on to face Lesnar at Summer Slam. Coming off his win at Extreme Rules with Roman Reigns, Lashley interrupted the promo and felt he is just as worthy as anyone else in the ring and got his shot to compete against Seth Rollins and Elias.

The winner of the first match being none other than Roman Reigns, The next match only made sense to have Lashley win. Coming off now back to back huge wins, he is riding a wave right now and that can perhaps lead him to face Lesnar at Summer Slam.  Though if Reigns were to win, it would be another match up we have seen at many Wrestlemania's and it wouldn't have that same fire power as if Lashley were in  the match.

Two forces going neck and neck for the title at one of the biggest pay-per-views of the year would be key to bring back the luster the title once held.  Having a push for Lashley instead of Roman would be a smart decision for the WWE and he has been on a roll as of late so it only makes sense.  A new face with the title is what Raw needs and Pushing Lashley would be crucial now more than ever.

Cubs' Darvish continues to be bad news

Despite the best of intentions, the Chicago Cubs have gotten more than they bargained for with signing right handed pitcher Yu Darvish over the offseason. After coughing up $126 million over 6 years, Darvish has been on the disabled list twice this year, has only had 4 starts, and hasn’t pitched since late May after experiencing significant inflammation in his triceps. The expectation was that Yu, after pitching 5 innings in Single A on Monday, would finally return to the Cubs this weekend, right? Wrong. While throwing a bullpen session this Thursday at Dodger Stadium, the 31 year old hurler experienced pain in his triceps. The Cubs are sending him back to team doctors to see if their pain could be more significant than inflammation. This setback, combined with star third baseman Kris Bryant landing on the 10 day DL with shoulder inflammation, continues a streak of bad luck to befall the reigning NL Central Champs. Ironically, this occurs while the Cubs are in LA facing Darvish...
