The WWE has been nothing but a progressive brand within the last couple of years when it comes to shining a light on certain subjects around the sports entertainment industry. The one particular subject was the women's division. The division that was known as the "bathroom break" at live events has quickly turned the tables and become the main attraction. With fans starting the hashtag #GiveDivasAChance, it changed the WWE landscape forever.
Everything starting a few years back when Stephanie McMahon introduced the "Women's Revolution". Seeing the success of the US Women's Soccer Team and the talent WWE with its up and coming women, she knew she had something brewing. This was almost unheard of around the sports world and Stephanie realizing the business women that she is, flipped the switch on the way fans watch WWE. Introducing fans to the "Four Horseman", a group that consisted of Bayley, Sasha Banks, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch. Along with well-known credible women in the industry like the Bella Twins and Paige. This revolution would take WWE by storm and allowed fans to respect the matches these women competed in and create a favoritism for different superstars now being both men and women.
But that announcement was only the tip of the ice berg for Stephanie McMahon. She would continue to make history by having women compete in matches that the men only competed in like The Iron Man (Iron Women), Money in the Bank, Steel Cage. It showed that women can be just as good as the men around the WWE. Stephanie has pressed all the right buttons so far and by the looks of things she is only getting started. Women in the industry can do anything the men are doing and giving them the opportunity to showcase their talents in matches is what is best for business.
While the revolution has been underway, it introduced the fans to even more successful women like Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax, Carmella, Asuka and Ronda Rousey. When WWE revealed Rousey is crossing over to the WWE, it was a big milestone for what Stephanie envisioned for the revoultion. Having Rousey at "WrestleMania" in a match against Stephanie and Triple H was huge. But, having Rousey put Triple H through a table was the icing on the cake and showed that the women are here to stay.
Last week on Monday Night Raw, she would stand in the ring with her husband (Triple H) and her father (Vince McMahon) and announce to all the Raw Superstars that they are making history again. She announced that on October 28, there will be a women's only pay-per-view event live on the WWE Network.
The Women's division has received nothing but support and praise from the WWE Universe when they implemented women to compete on bigger events. It gave women of today an opportunity to chase their dreams and have a role model to look up to in the WWE. The Women have yet to let the fans down and seeing them have the green light to go out and put on a show for the fans is truly something magical.
