You might have heard of a man named Tim Tebow, Heisman winner, National Champion, First Round Pick in the NFL draft but now, somehow, a minor league baseball player. Yes, the 30 year old's transition back to the National Pastime was mocked by many (he had last played the sport in High School before this). Most viewed the New York Mets' acquisition of Tebow as a prospect was an easy cash grab publicity stunt, and perhaps it was. However, Tim packs the fans into small Bush League ballparks readily and his baseball abilities have improved enough for him to have an all star season in Double A Birmingham. So, with the Major League Mets having a sour season in Queens, will Tim get his shot by the end of 2018? No, he probably is not big league material, but the money generated by a bonafide superstar celebrity like Tebow would probably be worth it in the context of a lost season for New York's National League beacon. It is yet to be seen if the Christian QB will get his chance to shine in The Show, but Mets GM Sandy Alderson has publicly stated his belief in Tebow, so who's to believe that he will not find his way from the bright lights of the gridiron to the World's biggest ballparks?
